5th World Water Forum - CSO Statement - Change one word
In the context of the Americas Regional Process towards the 6th World Water Forum, various public, private, cooperative, multilateral organizations and civil society came together to combine efforts for a constructve, objective analysis of the situation on access on water and sanitation in the region, developing solutions and commitments to achieve universalitation. This document responds to the work done by the various entities that form the thematic group “Ensuring access to water and sanitation for all and the Human Right to Water and Sanitation”.
ANEW developed an advocacy training plan which aims to strengthen the capacity of its members to conduct effective advocacy. The manual forms the basis of its advocacy training courses and has been designed as a practical tool to assist ANEW members and staff in rolling out advocacy courses. ANEW

Como muchas otras ciudades medianas del país, Xalapa, capital de Veracruz está creciendo a tasas siempre mayores que los servicios de abasto de agua y saneamiento y sin guardar proporción alguna con la capacidad de los ecosistemas para brindar servicios ambientales con los que se beneficia la ciudad. La expansión desordenada de la mancha urbana sobre municipios vecinos ubicados en las subcuencas del Sedeño y del Pixquiac compromete estos beneficios a mediano plazo. En la zona serrana se han parcelado los bosques lo que dificulta una gestión comunitaria de los recursos naturales en general. La escala en la que se ubica este trabajo es la de una subcuenca y sus microcuencas, que es en donde se presentan los distintos ámbitos de relaciones sociales e institucionales y donde los actores sociales pueden participar de manera directa y articulada para planear el manejo y gestión de los recursos.
